"A WORLD SO REMOVED"

This collection of photos comments on the effects of fast fashion in a culture of constant consumption. With 50's styled scenes to emphasize the facade of perfection and period defined by the emergence of consumable products, each photo depicts one of us. We live our lives with blood on our hands as we consume without concern for the forced labor behind cheap clothing and the detrimental effects fast fashion has on the environment. The subject is held up by marionette strings, an allusion to the deep control corporations and media maintains of their customers. Her blank stare emulates the lack of humanity in supporting organizations that benefit from genocide. The subject of each photo is surrounded by clothing, but appears apathetic and far removed from the world of exploitation and waste we live in.
